Non-Perishable Food Items

We gladly accept and appreciate donations of non-perishable food items for inclusion in our food hampers.

Some of the items needed for hampers are: canned tomatoes, kidney beans, chick peas, black or navy beans, pork and beans, soups, canned vegetables, peanut butter, salmon or tuna, plain white or brown rice, pasta, cereal (sugarless if possible), tomato paste, wholegrain crackers, fruit juice (100% juice) granola bars, and canned fruit packed in juice. We do not accept home canning products.

Please DO NOT donate items that are past their best before date. We cannot use them and they will be thrown out.

If donating non-perishable food items isn’t on your to-do list, then we will gladly accept your financial support instead.

Food Drives

A great idea for collecting non-perishable food items is have a donation event or a food drive. For example, on the first Sunday of every month, the Catholic Parishes of Penticton collect donations in large wooden bins at all the Masses that weekend. This is known by all the parishioners as Mary’s Pantry.
